The fabric cover is the quietest of our premium options. The board is wrapped in natural textile with a visible weave, so the book reads as something from a home library rather than a gift-shop keepsake. Eight colours are available, all muted, none of them glossy.
How fabric differs from velour and leatherette
Velour is soft and velvety, holds deep colour and is the only material we engrave. Leatherette is smooth, carries the widest palette at twenty-five colours and wipes clean with a damp cloth. Fabric gives a matte woven surface, pleasantly rough to the touch and free of fingerprints, but we do not engrave it and it is more sensitive to moisture than the other two.
Who it suits
People choose it for wedding books in a restrained palette, for family chronicles meant to stand on a shelf for years, and for gifts to older relatives where gloss would feel wrong. In a room with plenty of wood and textile, a fabric book becomes part of it rather than a separate object.
What is inside
The block is the same in all our photo books: photo-lab printing on matte Fujicolor Crystal Archive at 265 gsm rated beyond a hundred years, bonded without a gutter, opening flat at 180 degrees. Six to fifty pages, formats from 20×20 to 30×30 cm, assembled by hand on 2 mm board.
Frequently asked questions
How many fabric colours are there
Eight active colours. It is the smallest palette of the three premium materials, but every shade is chosen so it does not argue with the photographs inside.
Can names go on the cover
We engrave velour only. If you need names and a date on the cover itself, look at the velour photo book.
Will a light fabric get dirty
Light shades are more practical than they look, but fabric takes up moisture more readily than leatherette. For a book that many hands will leaf through, leatherette is the safer choice.
